Module Four: Fetal Echocardiography
1. The Fetal Heart: The Embryology & Anatomy. 2. The Cardiac Chambers.
3. The Great Vessels .
4. Doppler in Fetal Echocardiography.
5. Aortic Stenosis & Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
6. Atrial, Ventricular & Atrio-Ventricular Septal Defects.
7. Ebstien Anomaly, Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia & Tricuspid Regurgitation.
8. Tetralogy of Fallot. 9. Common Atrial Trunk.
10. Double Outlet Right Ventricle.
11. Transposition of Great Vessels.
12. Fetal Heterotaxy, Right Atrial Isomerism, Left Atrial Isomerism & Situs Inversus.
13. Fetal Arrhythmias.
Course Outcomes
EDUCATIONAL GOALS:
Participants will receive high-level training in all relevant aspects for the practice in Fetal
Medicine provided by sub-specialists with a consolidated reputation and experience in
clinical practice, teaching.
Specific goals of the Professional Diploma:
1) To provide participants with up-to-date knowledge & skills in all aspects of Fetal
Medicine, from Screening Ultrasound & Prenatal Diagnosis methods to Advanced
Fetal Ultrasound, covering all Fetal Medicine conditions.
2) To create a space to share experiences & knowledge with the experts.
3) To promote debate & critical thinking about new Advances in Fetal Medicine.
4) To receive face-to-face training with real cases focusing on very specific aspects of
